Privacy policy
Space Match
This notice explains how Space Match handles your data on Android and iOS: the age question at first launch, advertising and consent, optional analytics, the leaderboard and online profile, reports, purchases, reminders, and how to delete everything.
Space Match is for players aged 13 and over. It asks for no name, email, password or date of birth. It asks your age at first launch and adapts its protections to your answer. It creates an anonymous game account for the leaderboard. Analytics and tailored offers are optional and asked separately. You can delete everything from the Game.
1. Controller and scope
This policy applies to the game Space Match (the "Game") on Android and iOS. The controller of the processing described here is Sylvain KOPECNY, a French sole trader (entrepreneur individuel) trading as KopPlay Games ("we"). Unity processes on our behalf the data of our online services (game account, leaderboard, profile, reports, configuration), analytics and crash reports. Google, Apple and the ad networks also process some data on their own behalf, under their own policies. Questions and requests: kopplaygame@gmail.com.
2. Data kept on your device
The Game keeps on your device: your progress (levels, stars, stopovers), your resources (gems, lives and their timer, boosters), the state of the daily gift and events, your settings, the result of the age question (section 4), your privacy choices, the version of the Terms of Use you accepted and the day you accepted them, the optional tailored-offers record (section 9), advertising limit logs, purchase delivery receipts, the list of nicknames you reported (section 11) and your profile statistics.
This data is encrypted and signed on the device to detect corruption or tampering. Android automatic backup of app data is turned off. On iOS, the Game does not copy your progress to iCloud; depending on your Apple settings, your device backup (iCloud or computer) may contain the Game's files, which remain encrypted there.
If your save can no longer be opened, the Game offers you a way out: restore a copy, or start a new game after a double confirmation. In that case, the old game is moved to an archive on the device, without being erased, so that it can still be recovered; it is erased only when you delete your data (section 18).
Settings → Backup & restore lets you export a copy of your progress, protected by a code. That copy is stored wherever you put it; it contains neither the result of the age question nor your privacy choices.
Device data remains until you delete it from the Game (section 18), clear the app's data or uninstall it.
3. Internet connection
The Game requires an Internet connection. It is used by the advertising, consent, store, leaderboard, profile, online save, configuration and, if you accept them, analytics services described below. We run no game server of our own: our online features run on Unity Gaming Services, on our behalf.
4. Age and age-based protections
The question. Before any other service, the Game asks your age on a neutral screen: a slider that starts on "?", with no preselected value and nothing showing which answer would grant access. The screen cannot be closed without an answer, works offline and ends with the same confirmation for everyone.
Under 13. The Game stops there: no gameplay, no advertising, no analytics, no account sign-in, no purchase, and no advertising, analytics or account service is started.
What the Game keeps. We do not ask for your date of birth and do not keep your age. The Game keeps on your device your age bracket and, before you turn 18, the dates on which you will reach 13, 16 and 18, calculated from the day of your answer; each date is erased on the day it is reached, once the matching protection has been lifted. These dates make it possible to work out your approximate age; if you answered with your date of birth in a test version of the Game, they make it possible to work out that date. They never leave the device: they are not in the backup copy or the Google Play Games copy, and they are sent to no one.
Store age signals. The Game does not read the age ranges the App Store or Google Play may provide (for example under the laws of some U.S. states): your age comes from your answer in the Game. If we ever use them, the more protective of the two answers will apply, only to adapt the Game to your age and to comply with the law, never for advertising, analytics or profiling, and this policy will be updated first.
- 13-15 — advertising: non-personalized, all-audiences content, tagged "under the age of consent", advertising identifier not sent, opt-out of sale and sharing signaled to ad networks; analytics: off, question not asked; tailored offers: no.
- 16-17 — advertising: same; analytics: question asked, optional; tailored offers: no.
- 18 and over — advertising: choices presented by Google UMP for your region; on iPhone and iPad, Apple's tracking permission (ATT) asked later (section 5); analytics: question asked, optional; tailored offers: question asked, optional.
You can answer again from Settings → Privacy, or cancel and keep your answer. When your bracket changes, the new protections apply before the next advertising session; an analytics choice made before 16 is forgotten and the question is asked when you turn 16. The age question is not an identity check and is not consent to personalized advertising.
5. Advertising and consent
Advertising funds Space Match, on Android and iOS. Rewarded videos are always optional: a few extra moves (at most 3 times per 24 hours), a life (2 times), a small daily-gift bonus (once), up to 6 videos per 24 hours. Their length is set by the ad network that serves them; the Game never cuts a video short and measures their length (sections 6 and 7). Interstitial ads appear only at safe points after some wins, at most 2 per session and 5 per day, never at launch, never during a level and never to a player with a purchase recognized on the device. The Game shows no banners and no app-open ads.
From 18, the Game asks Google UMP to update your choices before any ad; where a consent message is required, no ad is requested until you answer. These choices can be changed in Settings → Privacy.
On iPhone and iPad, Apple's tracking permission (ATT) is asked only of players aged 18 and over, never at launch: at the earliest after the first stopover restoration. Before you answer, or if you decline, ad networks do not receive your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). A refusal is never asked again; you can change your mind in iOS settings (Privacy & Security → Tracking).
6. Advertising data
When advertising is allowed, Unity LevelPlay (mediation) and the ironSource Ads, Unity Ads, Google AdMob and Liftoff Monetize (Vungle) networks, as well as Google UMP, may process the data needed to request, deliver, limit, secure, measure and review the quality of ads:
- device and app information (operating system, language, version), approximate location derived from the network;
- advertising or device identifiers, only where available, legally allowed and not blocked by the protections in section 4; on iOS, the advertising identifier (IDFA) only with your ATT permission, the identifier for vendors (IDFV) and Apple's SKAdNetwork attribution;
- ad requests, impressions, clicks, completed rewarded videos, frequency and other interactions;
- information about the ad shown (advertiser, creative, duration), used by Unity LevelPlay Ad Quality to detect and block problematic ads;
- IP address, network, diagnostics, performance and fraud-prevention signals.
7. Optional analytics (Unity Analytics)
Unity Analytics starts only for players aged 16 and over who accepted it in a dedicated choice. Declining or withdrawing does not block the Game and does not change the advertising model. Under 16, the question is not asked and nothing is measured.
This data is pseudonymous: it contains no name or contact details but is linked to an installation or player identifier created by the service. It may include: technical device information, Game version, sessions, level attempts and results, in-game economy movements, rewards, shop and purchases, offer decisions, ads offered and watched (including their duration), and a technical error event (client_error: module, code and version, no free text, at most 3 times per code and per session).
Our events never send: your answer to the age question, a date of birth, save keys or purchase receipts. Unity keeps raw events for 13 months and then deletes them automatically. You can withdraw your consent at any time and request deletion of your analytics data in Settings → Privacy; Unity deletes it within 30 days.
8. Crash reports
To fix crashes, the Game uses Unity Diagnostics: when a crash or serious error occurs, a technical report (stack trace, device model, operating system and Game versions, installation identifier) is sent to Unity, which processes it on our behalf. These reports are never used for advertising or profiling. Platforms also receive their own reports: Android vitals (Google Play) and, on iOS, the reports you agree to share with developers in Apple's settings.
9. In-app purchases and tailored offers
Purchases. Purchases go through Unity IAP and Apple's (App Store, StoreKit) or Google's (Google Play Billing) payment systems. Apple and Google handle payment; we never receive your bank details. Unity IAP, Apple and Google may process the product identifier, purchase token or receipt, order identifier, app, app version, dates and purchase state to show local prices, deliver a purchase once, restore permanent purchases and provide support; Unity IAP may also send Unity technical information about purchases to operate its service. There is no KopPlay Games purchase server: purchases are checked on the device and local receipts prevent double delivery. If you restore a copy of your progress (online copy or backup copy), these receipts allow gems and boosters bought on the device that are missing from the copy to be credited once.
Tailored offers (18 and over, optional). The Game can choose which of its existing offers to show, and when, based on how you play. Adults are asked once, after the analytics question, and can change their answer in Settings → Privacy. If you accept, the Game keeps on the device a short record of recent play (session starts, attempt ends, boosters used), limited to a few entries and 7 days (never more than 30). It is used only to choose among existing offers and never changes difficulty, rewards, prices or free help. It is never sent, to us or to an ad network. If you decline, withdraw or are under 18, this record does not exist; declining or withdrawing erases any existing record.
10. Online save
Android. An optional Google Play Games sign-in keeps a copy of your progress in the app storage of your own Google Drive account. It is never offered before the age question. Google processes your Play Games player identifier under its own terms. This copy contains neither the result of the age question nor your privacy choices, and we cannot read it: it lives in your Google account. When the device copy and the online copy differ, the Game shows you both (level, gems, date) and restores the online copy only with your agreement; balances are never added together.
iOS. Version 1.0 of the Game offers no online save on iOS: your progress stays on the device and in the backup copies you export (section 2).
11. Global leaderboard, online profile, reports and launch gifts
Game account. For the leaderboard, the Game signs you in to Unity Authentication automatically, with no sign-up, only after the age question and from age 13. This creates a random Unity player identifier that is not linked to your name, email address, or Google or Apple account. A player code derived from this identifier is shown at the bottom of the Settings page, for support and deletion requests.
Leaderboard. When you win a new level or open the leaderboard, the level you reached is sent to a checking script we run on Unity Cloud Code; it checks plausibility and pace (at most one level every 15 seconds) and records your best level. No one can write to the leaderboard directly.
Profile. You can choose a nickname, an avatar, a frame and a title. The nickname is optional, up to 16 characters, checked by the server (offensive words, contact details, reserved names) and can be changed three times a day. Without a nickname, you appear under a default pilot name. Nickname, avatar, frame, title, nickname style, best level and rank are visible to all players, on the leaderboard and on your pilot card; they are stored in Unity Cloud Save, in data only the server can write. Do not use your real name or any personal information as a nickname. Other profile statistics are computed on the device and are not sent. The Game has no chat and no messaging between players.
Reports. When you report a nickname, it is immediately hidden for you (the list stays on your device), and our server records in a moderation file: the reported nickname, the reported player's Unity player identifier, your Unity player identifier, the reason you chose, the date, and whether your account counts as an "established" reporter (account seen by the server for at least 24 hours and level 10 reached). The server also keeps, in your account data, the list of your latest reports and how many you made that day, to apply the limit of 10 per day. The file is used only for moderation; it is reviewed by the publisher, who decides the outcome personally. It is deleted 12 months after it is closed (or 12 months after the last report if it stays open), and together with the reported player's account. If your nickname is hidden or refused, the Game tells you, with the reason. A report sent by email is kept with our support correspondence (section 17).
Launch gifts. For the "First Wave" event, our server records the date of your first visit, the platform (Android or iOS), the launch items granted to you and a random transfer code, also kept in your save. If a restored save presents it from a new game account, we copy your items there and record the original account's identifier, plus a non-reversible fingerprint of each new account in the original account (five at most). This data is deleted with the account that holds it.
12. Remote configuration
The Game downloads a small configuration document from Unity Cloud Code so that an offer, ads, an event or a feature can be paused without a new version, for example after an error. This can only pause things: it turns nothing on and never removes a purchase. The request uses your Unity player identifier and IP address, like the other online services; no new data is collected. The document is kept on the device for at most 72 hours, after which the Game returns to its original values.
13. Reminders (local notifications)
The Game can schedule three optional reminders on the device: lives full again, daily gift ready, last day of an Astro Dig excavation. They are asked for separately, can be refused or turned off at any time in the system settings, are never sent between 10 p.m. and 9 a.m., and are produced by the device itself: no notification server is involved and no data leaves the device for them.
14. Services used
Depending on features and the result of the age question: Unity LevelPlay and ironSource Ads; Unity Ads; Google AdMob and Google UMP; Liftoff Monetize (Vungle); Unity Analytics (optional); Unity Diagnostics; Unity IAP, Apple App Store (StoreKit) and Google Play Billing; Google Play Games (optional sign-in and save on Android); Unity Authentication, Unity Leaderboards, Unity Cloud Code and Unity Cloud Save (game account, leaderboard, profile, reports, launch gifts, configuration); Android and iOS local notifications.
The Game does not use Firebase, a mobile measurement partner, server-sent notifications or Game Center. More information: the privacy policies of Unity (https://unity.com/legal/privacy-policy), Google (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and Apple (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).
15. Purposes and legal bases
- Running the Game, saving, delivering and restoring purchases, leaderboard, profile and launch gifts — legal basis: performance of the contract (the Terms of Use).
- Age-based protections, handling rights requests, accounting obligations — legal basis: legal obligation.
- Nickname moderation and reports, security, anti-cheat and anti-fraud, remote configuration — legal basis: legitimate interest: a safe leaderboard for an audience from 13 and a stable game.
- Crash reports (Unity Diagnostics) — legal basis: legitimate interest: fixing crashes; you can object by writing to us.
- Non-personalized advertising — legal basis: legitimate interest: funding a free game, within the choices made in Google UMP.
- Personalized advertising, tracking on iOS (ATT) — legal basis: consent (Google UMP, ATT).
- Analytics (including client_error), tailored offers — legal basis: consent.
Where processing relies on legitimate interest, you can object to it on grounds relating to your particular situation by writing to us.
16. Sharing and "sale" of data
We do not sell personal data for money. Data may be disclosed to the providers listed, only for their services, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance or support, or where the law requires it. Some U.S. laws treat certain advertising disclosures as a "sale" or "sharing". For players under 18, the Game itself signals an opt-out of sale and sharing to the ad networks. For adults, the choices Google UMP presents for your region apply; you can also limit ad tracking in your device settings (advertising ID on Android, Tracking on iOS) or write to us.
17. Retention periods
- Progress, resources, settings, choices, accepted Terms version, delivery receipts, list of nicknames you reported — where: device; period: until deletion from the Game, clearing the app's data or uninstalling.
- Archives of a game started over — where: device; period: until deletion from the Game, clearing the app's data or uninstalling.
- Age bracket; dates of turning 13, 16 and 18 — where: device; period: bracket: as above; each date: erased on the day it is reached.
- Tailored-offers record (adults) — where: device; period: a few entries, 7 days (never more than 30); erased when you decline or withdraw.
- Advertising limit logs — where: device; period: random identifiers and timestamps, deleted once no longer needed for the 24-hour limits.
- Remote configuration document — where: device; period: at most 72 hours.
- Unity player account, public profile, leaderboard entry, launch-gift data — where: Unity Gaming Services; period: while you use the Game; erased when you delete your data; after 24 months without a connection, nickname, leaderboard entry and online data are erased automatically (the empty account remains, with no game data).
- Report files — where: Unity Cloud Save (private data); period: 12 months after the file is closed, or after the last report if it stays open; erased with the reported account.
- Google Play Games copy (Android) — where: your Google account; period: until you delete it (the Game deletes it with your data if you are signed in).
- Unity Analytics data — where: Unity; period: raw events: 13 months; deletion on request within 30 days.
- Crash reports — where: Unity, Google, Apple; period: these providers' periods.
- Support correspondence, rights requests, email reports — where: kopplaygame@gmail.com mailbox; period: 3 years after the last exchange.
- Advertising data — where: ad networks; period: their policies.
- Purchase history — where: Apple, Google; period: their policies (we do not hold it).
18. Deleting your data and exercising your rights
From the Game: Settings → Delete my data, then two confirmations. This erases your Unity player account, your public profile, your leaderboard entries, your online data, the report files targeting your account, your Google Play Games copy if you are signed in, and all your progress on the device, including archives and internal backup copies; an analytics deletion request is sent to Unity, and your Google UMP consent choices are reset. The Game then restarts like a first installation. Without a connection, nothing is erased and the Game tells you so. Only these remain: your purchases with Apple or Google, backup copies you exported yourself, our email exchanges, the reports you made (your identifier stays in them until the end of their retention period, section 17) and ad network data, under their policies. Details: "Delete your account and data" page (https://kopplay.fun/space-match/suppression/).
Without the Game: write to kopplaygame@gmail.com, subject "Space Match deletion". Because the account is anonymous, give us what helps us find it: your player code (at the bottom of the Settings page), otherwise your nickname, your level, the platform and the approximate date of your last game, and the order number of a purchase. Without this information, we may be unable to link pseudonymous data to a person, and we will tell you so; we never delete an account that could belong to another player.
Your rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent at any time, and instructions on what happens to your data after your death. We reply within one month at most. A request made on behalf of a child is handled without asking for more information than necessary. If you write to us from the save help screen, the suggested message contains the Game version, platform, operating system, device model, language and an incident number, never a key or an account identifier; you can edit it before sending.
19. Transfers outside the European Union
Some providers (Unity, Google, Apple and ad networks) process data outside your country, notably in the United States. These transfers rely on the safeguards provided by data-protection law: an adequacy decision (including the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework for certified companies) or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
20. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data under our control: encrypted transport, encrypted and signed local saves, online writes checked by the server, moderation files accessible to the publisher only. No method is 100% secure.
21. Regional rights and complaints
You may have additional rights under the law of where you live (GDPR, UK GDPR, U.S. state laws). You can complain to the data-protection authority of your country; in France, the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés (CNIL, www.cnil.fr).
22. Changes to this policy
This policy may change with the Game, its providers or the law. The effective date is updated with each version and previous versions remain available at https://kopplay.fun/space-match/versions/. A material change is announced in the Game before it takes effect.
